Ms. Boyd received a LL.M. in Environmental and Energy Law in 1997 from Tulane University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama in 1980, where she served as the Business Manager of the Alabama Law Review and was also on the Moot Court Board. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, in 1977, where she graduated
Magna cum laude and majored in
biology.
Ms. Boyd served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable J. Foy Guin, Jr. in the Northern District of Alabama, Southern Division from 1980-1981, and Ms. Boyd served as a Commissioner to the Alabama Environmental Management Commission from 1991-1993.
After practicing in the corporate transactional field for fifteen years, including serving as in-house counsel to two public companies in the health care and insurance fields, Ms. Boyd decided to go back to school and study for an LL.M. in Environmental Law, which she received in 1997.
Ms.
Boyd now concentrates her practice in environmental law, including acquisitions of contaminated property, administrative matters before the Alabama Department of Environmental Management and the Environmental Protection Agency, and toxic torts. She also handles all types of corporate finance and corporate transactional
work, and works to help individuals and
corporations with various health care
reimbursement and insurance issues. Ms. Boyd was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in

Appointed by the Governor of Alabama to attorney position on seven person commission which oversees environmental matters for the State of Alabama, including promulgating environmental regulations and hearings of administrative appeals from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
